Recreation therapists are experts in non-pharmacological interventions, yet we are often not formally recognized in this role by the institutions within which we work. In addition, we are often unaware of some of the evidence behind the interventions we use in our day-to-day practice. This presentation aims to address that gap and assist practicing RTs in understanding the mechanism(s) of how complex interventions work or why they fail in particular contexts.
