Meet our Team
Dr. Sienna Caspar
Sienna received a B.Sc. in Leisure Services—Therapeutic Recreation from the University of South Alabama in 1990. She has worked in long-term care facilities in both Canada and the United States for over 20 years as both a certified therapeutic recreation specialist (CTRS) and a consultant. She is the author of the MARRCC (Measurable Assessment in Recreation for Resident-Centred Care). In 2003 she was awarded the Clinician of the Year from American Therapeutic Recreation Association. From 2003 to 2007, she was a national trainer for the American Therapeutic Recreation Association’s Dementia Practice Guideline for the non-pharmacological treatment of disturbing behaviours. Currently, she is an associate professor at the University of Lethbridge in the Faculty of Health Sciences—Therapeutic Recreation program.
Brooke Ringuette
Brooke graduated with a Bachelor of Therapeutic Recreation from the University of Lethbridge in 2023. She is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS). She has four years of therapeutic recreation experience in continuing care settings. She also has experience working with adults with disabilities and children in mental health. She is currently a Recreation Therapy Manager working in continuing care. Inspired by her applied experiences, education, and involvement with the TRCoE, Brooke is eager to advance therapeutic recreation practices in continuing care.

Katelyn Scott
Katelyn is a certified therapeutic recreation specialist and dementia care specialist with nearly 10 years of experience. Currently pursuing a Master of Health Science, and is an instructor at the University of Lethbridge – Faculty of Health Science’s program and Lethbridge College – Therapeutic Recreation Gerontology program.
Jayleen Desaunoy
Jayleen is a recreation therapist specializing in supportive living and dementia care. With experience in research on therapeutic recreation services, she is pursuing a Master of Health Science degree at the University of Lethbridge and advocates for advancing research in the field.
Jennifer Jorgensen
Jennifer is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist who supports individuals in addiction and mental health services. With experience in various care settings, she advocates for person-centred care and promotes the sharing of best practices within the recreation therapy profession.”
